DIGI-REQA: Digital Tools and Quality Assurance for Automatic Recognition

The DIGI-REQA project is a transformative initiative aimed at enhancing automatic recognition practices across Europe. This effort addresses key gaps identified in implmentation of automatic recognition, emphasizing practical digital tools and links with quality assurance to support students, employers, and higher education institutions as the end users of automatic recognition. This project is designed to support the practical implementation of the agreement on automatic recognition of higher education qualifications between the Baltic and Benelux countries.

 By leveraging innovative digital solutions and fostering transnational collaboration, DIGI-REQA seeks  to:

• Expand and operationalise the Multilateral Treaty on Automatic Recognition of Qualifications and the AR-go tool aimed to support its implementation;

• Explore and align digital tools instrumental for achieving automatic recognition;

• Strengthen the role of quality assurance in enabling automatic recognition.

The project also prioritizes the integration of emerging trends like micro-credentials and joint degrees into recognition frameworks. Ultimately, DIGI-REQA envisions a more transparent, efficient, and user-friendly recognition system that aligns with the goals of the European Education Area and promotes greater mobility, equality, and trust across borders.

To achieve its goals the project brings together and engages various stakeholders: NARICs, QA agencies, and 3 European stakeholder organisations (ENQA, EQAR, and EUA) as partners, and through them also extends its reach directly to students, higher education institutions, and employers.
