SKVC Publishes the Annual Activity Report for 2025
SKVC has published its Annual Activity Report for 2025, highlighting key achievements of the year. The most significant developments include the advancement with development of a new quality assurance model, the creation of opportunities for interdisciplinary studies, and the modernisation of digital systems.
One of the most important results of the year is the development of a new quality assurance model. Conceptual and methodological solutions were prepared, alongside with proposals for amendments to the Law on Higher Education and Research. The new model introduces a modern approach to quality assurance following inspiration from effective European practices. It is based on a balanced relationship between enhancement-oriented development and compliance with quality requirements, reduces administrative burden, and strengthens transparency across the higher education system.
A major step was also taken to support innovation in studies. A draft Description of the Interdisciplinary Study Field was prepared, creating pre-conditions for higher education institutions to develop Master level study programmes that integrate knowledge from multiple disciplines and focus on addressing complex societal challenges. This initiative strengthens the higher education system’s capacity to respond to the evolving needs of society and the labour market.
The development of the quality assurance model and the preparation of the Description of the Interdisciplinary Study Field were carried out in dialogue and close cooperation with universities, colleges, student representatives, and the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport. Insights provided by stakeholders contributed significantly to the creation of sustainable and effective solutions.
In addition, SKVC strengthened its digital infrastructure and expanded the use of digital data in its activities. The national Electronic Recognition Space Information System (EPE IS) was updated, initiatives supporting the digitalisation of assessment processes for learning and research achievements were implemented, data-based institutional profiles of higher education institutions were developed, and national and European integrations of the EPE IS were expanded. These developments improve service accessibility and further reduce administrative burden.
